Happiness

Happiness is something that is all up to you , not anyone else nor world events or economics. You need to do the work. You need to learn to be happy for no reason and find a way to connect to your source. GOD, Law of Attraction or with quantum physics.

True Hilary, the Happiness lies in simple things and its up to us to find and cherish it. Its here in the moment and not dependent on anyone else. I do meditations and I gives me immense pleasure.

I meditate when I workout. I realized that I have done this my whole life after reading a book by Dr. Joe Dispenza “How to become supernatural”

For those not aiming for becoming supernatural, there is an alternative in a couple of courses on Coursera.  The Science of Well Being is one.  Yes, meditation is an indispensable practice towards the path of awakening, to be free from suffering and be at ease.

Happiness has been a major theme for me since 2006 - I feel happiness is a choice - “I am ahappy person” bringing a state of happiness, also a moment - i feel happy, sad, angry, frustrated, blissful… all valid emotions, welcomed, felt and embraced  from the state of being a happy person :-)

Another course that I took is A Life of Fulfillment and Happiness.  As it happens, Prof. Raj Raghunathan made HappySmarts HappyHour #5 with Prof. Srikumar Rao.   Great insightful wisdom shared.

Anyone else take Laurie Santos’ class called: The Science of Well-being? It’s about happiness.

@Hilary Jean Collmer nice post, also i think the same,

Happiness come from inside, knowing and accepting yourself, living in peace, be kind, respetful each others, wanting to improve everyday by learning and having experiences that grow you both personal and professional, being connected with the nature, have inner harmony, give thanks and praise for every new day.

So let’s be happy, with joy and good feelings in order to attract great positive things .

Kind regards.

A great course here on Coursera on the topic of happiness is called “Success”.  Its delivered by Prof. Shell from Wharton, and deep dives into the meaning of success and happiness. I am taking it right now. I highly recommend it for anyone pondering on the idea of success and happiness and where to find them. Its a well structured, eye opener of a course! Its also the first in the Achieving Personal and Professional Success Specialization offered by the Wharton School at UPenn.

Nice post, Hillary for me too happiness is a state of mind. It can be associated with any wealth, or health or anything else. I have seen so many people working under extreme conditions, at odd hours but happy otherwise. So it's state of our mind which teaches us to be happy

Happiness comes from within but what do we do when a particular person decides to pick on us?  I read that Carl Linneaus had a colleague who tried to immulate what he was doing and compete directly with many of his goals.  How do we push into feeling sorry for that competitor and not focus on the irritating behavior obstacles?  How do we overcome gaslighting?  Trust the process, let it go.  But how do we use our emotions to propel us forward in a positive manner? I'm just starting on my happiness journey after years of allowing boundless fear to overwhelm and stifle.  I used to be happy, how to return to happiness?  Long term goals: overcoming obstacles that prevent me from starting my own business.

Best,

  Logan
