I would say sit down with a college counselor and have him map out your career as you set these goals for yourself

This is what I suggest:

  1. Join a local OWASP group
  2. Learn about the many roles in cybersecurity
  3. While in the OWASP group ask questions, listen and learn about cybersecurity and the skills that local employers are looking for in junior roles in cybersecurity
  4. Find a mentor

Do you have a job in IT? Helpdesk support?System/network admin? It is easier to pivot into cyber than to start in cyber, which is a very broad field.

Cyber is an incredibly broad field so before anyone can answer this you need to think about what aspect interests you. Are you interested in threat intelligence, malware analysis, penetration testing? Are you interested in networks, or operating systems, or applications, or websites? There is noone in the world who is an expert in everything, and there is no course that will teach you everything. So think about it some more then come back with a question such as “how do I become a network penetration tester” and someone will hopefully be able to give you a detailed answer.
