Today is World Refugee Day. There are now 70 million individuals displaced around the world due to persecution, conflict, and human rights violations. According to the UN an estimated 25.9 million of these people are refugees.

Have you heard about Coursera for Refugees? Launched in 2016, the program provides refugees around the world with free access to the Coursera course catalog. Coursera for Refugees has reached over 26,000 refugees to date.

Today on the Coursera blog, we're featuring two learner stories that embody the determination, resilience, and diversity of refugees learning on Coursera:

Meet Ehab, an activist who's empowering youth to advocate for peace, democracy, and social justice.

Meet Estella, a budding journalist who’s kicking off her career in Rwanda.

Have you benefited from the Coursera for Refugees program? If so, we'd love to hear your story.
