Is the promo only valid for first-time users? Beacuse the discount wasn’t applied still :(

Hi @Bryan_Jr. Yes, I’m sorry, because we have so many people interested, we’ve limited the promo to one per person. If you’ve already used the Rhyme (guided) project promo in March, that will count to this total. I will add this to the original post to clarify.

Hi Laura, I am trying the enroll  to the “Project: Introduction to Relational Database and SQL”  but I don’t see the option to “start the guided project” like those I see from other projects, instead what I see is the option to enroll  but I don’t think the promo is being applied at check out.

I did not see where the promotion was applied.  I got an receipt for a bill of $9.99.  Purchase date was April 8.   Order number 35841466.   I thought the promotion would be applied at checkout.  Please cancel the order and refund the full amount.  This is really unacceptable.

Thanks for letting us know, @jgtolentino and @Rick2020. I’m sorry, I don’t know why the promo isn’t working on some of these projects but I have shared this information with my colleagues so we can fix it. @Rick2020 I’ve followed up with you on this issue outside of this thread. @jgtolentino if you haven’t enrolled in a project yet, please look for this banner on project pages. If the project shows this banner, the promo should work correctly.

Again, I’m so sorry for the inconvenience and frustration.

Update:  I checked my bank account online, and it did not show a debit for the transaction.   I do not need a refund at this time.  

 

However, I feel uneasy because I received a receipt for the transaction, and on checkout there was no indication that the promotion was being applied.

 

This transaction occurred nine hours ago, and there has been no change in  my bank account balance.  

 

Probably Coursera handled the transaction this way to reduce its tax liability.  But because I received a receipt, it made me worry that my bank account had been debited, or would be debited later.

How to redeem this promo?

Do I need to pay some money to get this promo to enroll in a project? (because it asks for a credit card number when enrolling in a project)

@Jayasahan  I really don’t know.  I think you need a credit card to enroll.  I do not know if you will get charged, or if they have fixed it to where your card is not charged.  My card was charged, but I got a refund because I asked.

If you are worried about being charged (and you probably should be), then maybe you should first ask Coursera if they have fixed the problems.

Or charge the card, wait a day or two, check your bank account online to see if your card has been charged, and then notify Coursera if you have been charged and have not received a refund within two days.

Hi @hks, thanks for checking in. I’m expecting the bug to be fixed in a couple weeks’ time. I think we’ll be able to update the end date of the promotion so people have time to take advantage of the promo! Thanks for your patience.
