I am registered for an executive data science course. I have paid for the course, and my profile reflects this. However, when I go to submit my quiz, I am prompted to get a free subscription in order to advance in this class. I have been having a hard time using customer support for coursera, and customer support links just seem to bounce me back and forth between two or three web pages, none of which have been helpful.

Perhaps your payment has not been processed at all due to a technical issue. Please take a quick look at the Help Article first:
If the listed issues do not cover yours, then you have to click "Contact Us". It'll take you to a page where you can see some questions. Answer them until you see such a link:
Then, type your query and send it. I hope this helps.
