Hi,

I’m Emir from Istanbul, which is also my hometown and current city. I’ve just finished University of Michigan’s Python Specialization. Honestly, I was looking forward to make some room for data specializations so I rushed it a bit. I have actually been thinking about learning data science for a long time, ever since my college days.

I’m coming from an international finance (BA) background. We had core courses focusing on data like statistics, econometrics with lab sessions, and business and financial analysis, but have never been able to focus straight on the data itself before.

I think data analysis is not just something that should be limited to information technology or business environment. Data is all around us. Because our brains automatically process and analyze all kinds of data every second of every moment, I believe thorough understanding of data also widens overall perception towards our surroundings. So the deeper the understanding of data flows and management, the better the perception towards life.

Hello!

I’m Ranit from India.

I did my Bachelor’s in Statistics from University of Delhi and currently pursuing my Masters for Data Science from VIT, Vellore.

I’m interested in Data Science because of the conceptual idea of extracting Data from almost everything, manipulate it and construct an algorithm to extract desired outputs based on the problem.

I’m interested in Deep Learning, because of its Artificial Neural Network property, inspired from our own Neural Networks.

I’ve completed Machine Learning for Data Science Bootcamp, by Jose Portilla from Udemy and currently pursuing 2 courses: Intro Deep Learning by DeepLearning.ai and Machine Learning by Stanford University.

Hi folks,

I'm Milton Leal, born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I've worked as a journalist for about 15 years before deciding to start a bachelor's degree in Computational Mathematics at Sao Paulo University (USP).

During the first year at university, I had Calculus I and II, Linear Algebra, Statistics I and II and two more courses about computational algorithms using Python. Now, I'm about to start my second year as a graduate student.

On Coursera, I'm currently taking Johns' Hopkins Data Science Specialization and thus I'm learning some R.

As a journalist, I've covered different economic sectors, such as the energy industry and the crypto-assets space. I've always tried to write stories using data and that was the main reason I decided to go deep and study math and programming.

My interest in Data Science is to learn how to get, clean and analyse data to tell interesting stories.

Hi. This is Ammar GABER from Sudan. I live in Khartoum the capital of Sudan.

Actually, I studied Physics. In this field you have to study statistics, mathematics and computer science. As you see, these are the main ingredients of the Data Sceicne, Machine Learning and AI. Concerning the database and algrithms, Physics is based on obervations and expriments,so the data is available and the methods of designing the experiments are also available.

The most existing thing is that, I joined Sudan Meteorlogical Authority as a Meteorlogist to foreacst the weather using various forecasting methids that depned on the ground, upper air, sounding, shiping and satellite observations in addition to the numerical models.

I joind coursera long time a go, I took many course, may be more than 10 coureses, mainly in R, cloud computing and data visulaization.

I designed a course that I am teaching at Khartoum University titled: Data Analysi snad Visulaization using R. I have been teaching this course irregularly since 2016.

Greetings fellow students, My name is Andile Vilakazi from Tierpoort Pretoria East.

I recently completed my BSc Degree in Environmental Management and i'm currently studying drone piloting course. I'm interested in Data Sciences because data is now the new oil!  This means the focus is on finding ways of interpreting and converting the raw data into information that can be used by the end user to inform their activities - accurately and efficiently.

As an Environmentalist and Drone Pilot, Data Science will play a crucial role in my career.

Hi there! My name is Tiina and I come from Finland :flag_fi: . We have very much snow at the moment when I’m writing this, I love winter...

I’m studying R programming in the  Data Science: Foundations using R Specialization course series. My level is beginner, and this R is quite new to me and those assigntments are sometimes very time-consuming cause have to learn and adapt so many new things. But I’ve decided to become a professional so just have to work hard and get tasks to be solved.

I would like to study together if here is somebody else in the same course?

Have a nice day
