Trying to unenroll from MOMA photography course, button is broken. There’s a JS error in the console. Tried Firefox Nightly and Chromium. I’m not a beta tester but none of the other forums seemed appropriate.

Have you applied for a certificate?

No, I just want it out of my courses since I'm not gonna do it.

Well the simplest thing to try is that go to Home Page of Coursera → There are three tabs (Home, In Progress, Completed) and try to find the course you’re looking for in those three tabs → On top of the desired course of yours on the left side there’s a gray icon saying “course” and in front of it on the right side there are three vertical dots → Click on it and you can find two tabs (first is Rate course and the second is unenroll) → Click on the Unenroll tab.

Also try refreshing the tab or even logging out and in, you know how buggy net could be sometimes.

You can press the “contact us” button and directly contact the staff. Hope one of these options work for you.

I’ve come across the same error with another course and replicated it across multiple browsers on Windows. It allows you to click on the unenroll option in the three-dot menu and even gives a confirmation prompt, but it’s not registering the confirmation click and doesn’t unenroll you from the course.

I’ve downloaded the android app and been able to remove courses via that, which isn’t an ideal solution but if you have the app or are able to download it, it might stop your unwanted courses driving you nuts until the website glitch is fixed!

I have the same problem - button gives js error - multiple browsers, multiple courses - clear cache did not help.

Same issue here on two course:

Just logged in again.

Same issue. In the end I have achieved it through the coursera application on an android smartphone.

Still not fixed

Is there any workaround we can apply while the engineering team can fix the issue? I need to un-enroll and then re-enroll the course to work on updated deadlines.

This is still an issue, four months later?! How hard is it to fix a button?

Dear mods, we’re four months in, and still the same “technical issue” has not been fixed:

  • I can’t unenroll from Android app: “Can't unenroll. You've purchased a certificate for this course. Please use the Coursera web site to un-enroll.” (BTW I don’t remember having purchased any certificate)

  • I can’t unenroll from the Web site either, because of that button bug:

> Uncaught TypeError: n is not a function

    onUnenrollFromCourse CourseUnenrollModalWrapper.tsx:82

    <anonymous> withSingleTracked.tsx:89

    onClick Button.js:114

    React 12

    unstable_runWithPriority scheduler.production.min.js:19

    React 3

    d raven.js:444

CourseUnenrollModalWrapper.tsx:82:39

Please do something

Doesn’t work for me :triumph:

Please, mods, do something.

I want to unenroll from all courses I’ve taken, now that the partnership with my University is over and that Coursera asks money for every step I take.

Thank you

Dear @Jose A

My issue has been addressed. I’ve been being taken care of:

Hello K***,

Ethan over here from the Coursera for Business team following up on your request.

I understand that you would like to confirm what is the current status of your account and unenroll from the courses you've been switched to audit mode and I'll be glad to assist.

To clarify on this, the learning program you were part of has since ended last year, the reason why the courses you've been enrolled in have now been switched to audit mode, and these request payment for completion. I have removed these courses from your account as per your request and you'll no longer see them listed in your Dashboard. Any progress you have in the course will always be saved and you can re-enroll anytime to continue. Remember that you can also manage the notifications you receive for each course from your Settings page > Email Preferences.

Starting on October 1, 2020, and over the following week, your student account has migrated to a free Coursera for Campus Student plan account, which provides access to unlimited Guided Projects and one free course per year along with online support. The one Free course you've selected is "Natural Language Processing", which you still have access to work on and complete to get the Certificate. I didn't remove this course from your account.

You no longer can unenroll from any course on your account to get new enrollments. As of now, you have no more enrollments left to use. If you are still interested in enrolling in more courses, you can see our different enrollment options by clicking on this Support Article: Enrollment Options.

Please let us know if you have additional questions or need further assistance.

Thank you for using Coursera,
Ethan

Wow, writing so many words instead of just fixing the problem. I have the same problem. I am a beta-tester and have a ton of courses that I would like to unenroll, but cannot. Emailing to support every other week is not practical.  Coursera is de-facto a paid platform, so the expectations are higher. Please fix the button.

I am in the same situation.  The button doesn’t appear to be working.  Why hasn’t this issue been fixed?!

There’s no “Contact us” at the bottom of that article.

It’s been at least 5 months since the original message and the issue is still not fixed. I can’t unenroll from courses I’m not interested in.

Hello @Mxx. I'm sorry to hear that the button wasn’t there; please make sure that you have logged into the Help Center and try disabling any adblockers. Also, I suggest using Google Chrome.

Now, please enter the Help Center and look for the text that says “you can email us here” at the bottom of this article.

Hi, I have the same problem with Unenroll button, it doesn’t do anything for months and months. Reading all of the previous comments I realised this is a very old issue, lots of apparently useless advices, but still not fixed, which is quite upsetting.

I am posting this only in amazement, whether this is a trick to keep people stick around, and finally get them pay for any next course. I am saying that because I have two courses accumulated, because I cannot unenroll. The courses I wasn’t and am not going to follow up, because one appeared to be a very low level course, the other - far too complicated regarding recommended reading (which isn’t provided  and very hard to find online).

I don’t have to explain my reasons for wish to unroll, I simply wanted to illustrate  I am a serious learner, and came here to deepen into a specific field. Unfortunately, I cannot continue searching for a course at a level I need, because with the two courses sitting on my account, I would have to pay for any next one. That’s what a message said, on my account, about a free trial etc. Needless to say, I am not going to do it, not like that, being forced to stick around.

A bit of a shame, really. I hope one day the issue with the button ahem ahem will be fixed, and I can come back and learn, for free.

Kind regards,

Olga
