Enroll specialization without university sponsorship

I am enrolled in a specialization and auditing one of the courses. I want to upgrade and pay for the specialization but it asks me if I want to use the university sponsorship (with just a “continue” option, so I cannot decline).

The sponsorship is only for one course, so I don’t want to use it now since I will be paying for all the specialization anyway (and plan to finish within a month).

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for your reply Saheli. Unfortunately it does not solve the issue.

I was already in that option. But since both accounts are connected it still appears.

The pop-up says:

Enroll with Learning Programs

Join just this course through your XXXX University on Coursera's sponsorship. As a member of the XXXX University on Coursera Learning Program, you can upgrade to the full Specialization at any time.

Button: “Continue”

@ElleBD Thank you for acknowledging the suggestion.

In that case, you can take the single course from the specialization and pay for the individual courses in the subsequent enrolments.

Because when you enroll in a course that is part of a Specialization ,you are automatically enrolled in that Specialization.

Another option is that, you can take any single course that fits your requirements and/or interests. Then move on to purchase the entire Specialization.

Enroll in a single course in a Specialization

Some Coursera courses are part of Specializations, a series of related courses designed to help you master a specific topic.

You can take individual courses in a Specialization without having to complete the entire Specialization. You will get a Course Certificate for every individual course you complete, whether or not you finish the rest of the Specialization.

If the courses allow you to pay individually, you can pay for each course you want to take without paying for the entire Specialization. If the Specialization requires a subscription, you can subscribe to the Specialization, take as many courses as you want in that Specialization, then cancel your subscription. You will still earn Course Certificates for the individual courses you finish.

For more information, please have a look at this article on the enrollment options and specializations

Hello @ElleBD

I am glad you posted your query on the community forum.

About your enquiry.

I would like to mention some steps that will help resolving the issue .

You mentioned about having 1 free enrolment left in the University Sponsored Program which means you were attempting to enroll through the said membership panel .

The screenshot below shows the “Coursera Membership Menu”.

What you can do is to switch to the “My Coursera(All courses) ” option and then try enrolling for the specialization .

On doing so you will be able to purchase the entire specialization without using the available sponsorship.

Hope this helps.

Please let me know if this issue is resolved.

Warm regards, Saheli
