I signed up for a comp course in the fall, and now I’m not sure if it’s still active and if I’ll get my certificate after completion. Do courses expire? How do I know if it’s a course I’m auditing or if I’ll get the certificate of completion at the end?

Hello @J Smirnova. You may find this article useful: Enrollment options.

As @salahny said, it will depend on how you obtain the course. Financial Aid applications and single course payments grant you 180 days of access to a course, subscription payments give you 30 days of access, a Coursera Plus subscription grants you one year of access.

You can read the article I provided to identify the enrollment options available for your course.

if you signup on courses by the financial aid will expire you must learn and earn a certificate . courses with certificate you will find materials quizzes and assignement and if you audit the course you will have acess just for the content . and if you pay for the courses you will be charged each month 39 - 100 usd depends on the Specializations until you get the certificate .

Hi,

Could you also advise me on this topic please? I was not aware that you only had 180 days for free enrolments courses or the one time payment courses so I signed up for all the courses I wanted to do at one time, thinking I could just reset the deadlines and do them when suited my schedule and that they did not expire. How can you tell how many days you have left to complete the course as when you click the course it only shows you when the course ends/finishes but not your specific enrolment expiration date?

Thanks ever so much!

Hi @SLJ  i advise you don't start a course or purchase it until your have free time to learn. because even your reset deadlines on financial aid course or single course payment you will have 180 days from the day of your enrollement .

Yes, :expressionless::relaxed: I realise this now so going forward will not do this. I was doing a variety of courses at one time as I find if I learn multiple different courses on different subjects I actually retain quicker and can learn more at once. For example, if I need to learn a topic on psychology, biology, excel, science writing/communication  or global health etc. Rather than do the same topics at once I will chose a variety from each category and do alongside each other as in the long term I learn more this way-  I was not aware of the 180 day deadline when I decided to do it this way.

So in this case where I have already signed up to the courses, is there an easy way to find when your current course access expires other than going through each enrolment date via email and counting the 180 days form there?

Thanks again!! :)

Sorry @salahny @Jose A I forgot to add you in to my reply. :)

Do you know if there is an easy way to view your expiration deadline for a course please?

Thanks!
