I’m writing here to share my experience with Coursera and see if there’s anybody with a similar problem that found a solution:
More than a month ago I signed up for Coursera Plus one year ($399). At the time I was taking a course using the 30 day trial but since I had committed to doing a long specialization and I was getting good value from the course I decided to pay for the subscription.
Shortly after (I assume when the free trial period expired) I was thrown out from the course, and if I tried to enroll again I got a message saying something like “There was an error taking you to the payments page”, and have not been able to complete the course since.
I contacted Coursera’s support and they told me there was indeed an issue with my account and that the development team would look into it, but that they couldn’t give me a timeline. After that I got a mail saying that my ticket was closed because the issue was resolved. It wasn’t, so I mailed them and they told me that from their point of view their work was done, they had passed the problem to engineering.
It’s been more than a month since then, and now I can’t enroll in new courses. I’ve paid $399 for a service I can’t use, and I’m not getting any solution/mitigation from Coursera.
Has anybody experienced a similar problem?
I’d assume that Coursera and Coursera Support would be a bit more helpful towards their members, especially if one has committed to paying for a whole year...

I found a workaround for this: Enrolling on the courses via the mobile app (I tried iOS) works. If I try to enrol via the webpage I still get the same error, but it seems to work through the app.
Last message from support said there’s more people with this issue, so it might be useful to add the workaround to the list of known issues.
