The development of a new venture is closely linked to its financing. A startup has to gather several financial resources and venture capital often plays a vital role. This webinar is designed for those who want to be familiar with the various mechanisms financing innovation and growth companies. You will get familiar with the main stakeholders of the financial ecosystem, notably entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and business angels.

About the Speaker
Dr. Etienne Krieger is a graduate of HEC Paris and holds a Ph.D. in management science from Paris Dauphine University. He is an affiliate Professor at HEC Paris and Academic Director of several programs. He has advised more than 800 innovative companies. He is also HEC’s representative for the Paris Saclay Seed Fund. He was a board member of Xiring, a leading security solutions provider for electronic transactions, from its IPO in 2006 until its friendly takeover by Ingenico in 2011. He is also cofounder and/or advisor of several innovative companies. He has developed various business and financial tools for entrepreneurs and he is focusing on new venture creation and financing.

Dr. Krieger mainly teaches entrepreneurial finance. In 2015, he launched a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) jointly developed by HEC and Ecole Polytechnique about technology-based start-up creation and development. This MOOC provided by Coursera has been followed by more than 40,000 students worldwide.

Prior to starting his business activities, Dr. Krieger was the Director of the HEC Start-Up Institute and cofounder of the Challenge+ program at HEC Paris, France's leading business school. In this capacity, Mr. Krieger has developed and taught various programs on entrepreneurship and finance and advised numerous tech start-ups. He also participated in international meetings on innovation, notably the High Technology Small Firms Conference (The Netherlands), the International Conference on Small Business (San Francisco), the National Summit on Innovation (Malaysia), and the International Finance Conference (Tunisia). Dr. Krieger is founder and President of the Challenge+ alumni association and member of several committees selecting high tech new ventures. His is also co-founder and member of the board of the French Academy of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He has been consulted by the French government and several administrations about various mechanisms intended to favor innovation in small companies.
