Have you taken AI For Everyone?
Yes, I’ve taken AI for Everyone.

What did you like about it?
I really enjoyed the way that Andrew Ng put the course taker at ease with his class delivery. AI is a
very mysterious topic that most business people think is best to be left to the
Data Scientists, and ML Engineers. But the reality is that as a business
person, you have an enormous responsibility to learn how AI works to understand
how it will affect strategy. Having a leader in the AI industry like Andrew
deliver the lectures not only brings credibility, but his calm demeanor and
presentation style makes the student understand that yes, AI is not some
magical topic that is out of reach, and everything is going to be just fine.

What were the key skills and knowledge you gained from the
course?
Since this course does not cover direct skills needed to build AI models, train, etc., I emphasize that it’s mostly about gaining knowledge and, again, gain confidence.

Who would benefit from taking this course?
I think business leaders and executives will benefit the most from this course. I’ve taken other courses that have tried to gloss over AI or talk to the student as if we shouldn’t worry about what’s inside the black box. Well, we business leaders need to know what’s inside the box. To that extent, the benefit of taking this course is that it gives you confidence when speaking with others about the topic. Confidence when talking about AI is not an easy thing when you’re just not technical.

What have you done with what you learned?
I’ve actually applied to a position where, unknowns to me, the Product Owner is required to work with a Machine Learning engineers. When I learned about this, I didn’t hesitate and am moving forward with the interview process. Again, it’s that Confidence factor. AI is not magic. It can be understood by business people.

The course is a general overview which gives people a starting point into concepts regarding AI. You can gain a knowledge of terms in AI as well as the concerns from a realistic view point.

Who would benefit from taking this course?
I have already recommended this course to business consultants, photographers, students in computer science and IT, College Deans, Economics professors, Business professors, and more. The class is invaluable to anyone interested in AI.

What have you done with what you learned?
The course just allowed me to speak about AI with a higher level of confidence. While I've taken Ng's other courses, this course raises the concept to a more grounded level to be able to talk about AI more generally and not just from a purely technical standpoint. I have been able to engage with panels discussing the ethics of AI far better as well knowing Ng's thoughts on the matter.

Have you taken AI For Everyone?
Yes, I did take this non-technical course during the month of March '19

What did you like about it?
I really liked the way the course was presented. The materials covered were very relevant and the instructor (Andrew Ng) was concise and to the point with his explanations; all these factors reinforced my understanding of AI.

What were the key skills and knowledge you gained from the course?
Some of the skills I gained were: understanding of AI terminology, neural network, data science & machine learning, building of an AI strategy, understanding AI frontiers, and how to navigate AI ethical and societal issues.

Who would benefit from taking this course?
I think anyone would benefit from taking this course. AI has become an important tapestry of our lives just like the internet, and it has ushered some exciting breakthroughs worldwide. As businesses continue to move ahead I believe executives would benefit as well since AI starts with pilot projects where top management support is essential.

What have you done with what you learned?
Not at the moment. Being unemployed, I am still in search of an opportunity🙂.
Have you taken AI For Everyone?
Yes.

What did you like about it?
How it demystifies what might seem like a really "out-of-reach" topic and makes it easy to understand for anyone -- not necessarily just a mathematician, statistician, scientist, computer science engineer or programmer. I also feel that Andrew is one of the few remarkable people on the planet who can actually effectively demystify what is a very vast, quickly-evolving field of knowledge, and structure it out into a series of learning modules which are very easy for learners of any level to adapt to. It's the combination of the teacher, the content and the style of delivery.

What were the key skills and knowledge you gained from the course?
The ability to look at real-world situations, pain points we all face and first of all, understand situations where AI might be useful. Also the ability to structure a very high-level thought process around key milestones and steps that an AI program should incorporate as it tries to solve this problem. Finally, classifying problem types into typical AI problem-solving approaches.

Who would benefit from taking this course?
Practically anyone who is currently performing, or in charge of departments that are performing, lots of repetitive manual tasks that are not just data entry style operations, but a little higher order than that, for example, analyzing documents for forgery, logistics and route optimization, forecasting order volume -- very typical business tasks that are still done with a lot of manual input and intervention but at the end of the day are relying on fairly well-understood concepts and heuristics/techniques. But it's not just working professionals. Students, scientists, housewives, doctors -- just about anyone will benefit from taking this course, even if it just means being able to tune in to a conversation around AI without feeling overwhelmed or switching off.

What have you done with what you learned?
I have just concluded this course and one immediate application that I can think of, which is relevant to the product that we are building, is identifying which of the users engaging with our application is more likely to result in a converted booking vs. those who may be engaging in motivated, abusive behaviour.

What did you like about it?
I loved the paintings! 😍
In each course there is a different painting behind Andrew.

The most amazing thing in this course (but also at the courses that Andrew is talking/teaching) is the simplicity. He manages to make the AI look so easy. And in such a small amount of time, he is taking as for a fast trip in the AI vision.

What were the key skills and knowledge you gained from the course?
Actually, I didn't gain anything from this course. The reason is that I've already finished the Machine Learning and the Deep Learning Specialization courses. But I did find myself filling some gaps, mostly because I've forgotten them.

Who would benefit from taking this course?
In one word: Everyone
More reasons:
  • If you know or work with AI, you'll fill in the/some gaps.
  • If you don't know but you are not sure if AI is for you, then invest your time here, at this lesson. At the end of it you'll be able to decide if you want to get involved with AI or not.
  • If you are thinking of using AI for your project but you are not sure if it's the right thing
  • You just want to learn the A-Z of AI, and be able to talk with other people
  • Because now that you've read all of these reasons you are curious and you want to take this course 😉
What have you done with what you learned?
I have a lot of friends who are working their projects and didn't know if they can use AI and how to use. So I have given them some advice. Most of them have adopted them.
